Anna Metz (YCISPX)

Esteemed delegates and directors, my name is Anna Metz and it is my honor to serve

as the President of the First General Assembly at SHASMUN IX. I began my MUN

journey as a delegate in a General Assembly five years ago at SHASMUN V which

struck a sense of curiosity towards educating myself and addressing global issues with

an ever-growing set of critical thinking and analytical skills. I believe that MUN gives all

delegates the opportunity to communicate with each other, voicing their thoughts on

complex issues that are currently prominent in our world. My most fundamental piece of

advice to delegates is to not only fully prepare yourself on your issue and your country’s

stance on it, but to also open yourself up to building new insights regarding those

issues, presenting refreshing solutions in an engaging and supportive environment. Use

your diplomacy, knowledge and creativity to collaborate with other delegates, utilizing

this incredible opportunity to its fullest potential. I wish you all the best in preparations,

please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing

you all strive to your fullest potential and facilitating an exciting committee in November!

Deputy President

Chris Jang (SMIC)

Greetings! My name is Chris Jang, and I am currently a sophomore at SMIC Private School. I’m the past four years of my MUN career ever since middle school, I had the chance to take place in 8 conferences, I am honored and excited to serve as deputy chair for GA1. Ever since I had started my very first conference in SHASMUN as the delegate of Sweden in the environmental committee, confused and lost of what was going on, I have now grown through countless experiences to a delegate with enriched experiences. In the same way, I wish that all delegates will be able to have a fruitful and meaningful time here at SHASMUN to gain more experiences as a delegate. See you at SHASMUN!
