Distinguished directors, student officers, delegates and guests- welcome to SHASMUN VIII. My name is Celine Wang, and it is my honor to serve you as the Chief Administrative Officer. Having the privilege of serving as an administrative officer at last year’s SHASMUN, I can confidently say that SHASMUN always gathers groups of passionate, dedicated students and continues to uphold its values of constructive debate and diplomacy. So whether you are already an experienced delegate or if you’re just starting to dip your toes into the MUN water, I encourage you all to step out of your comfort zones and overcome complacency. I am certain that SHASMUN VIII will provide you all a valuable experience full of learning curves and ever-lasting bonds. I look forward to meeting you all in November!

Esteemed directors, student officers, delegates, and guests:
Welcome to SHASMUN VIII! My name is Cynthia Wang, and it is my honor to serve as your Chief Communications Officer. Having delegated and served as the President and Deputy President of the Human Rights Council for SHASMUN, this year, as a member of the secretariat, I will do everything in my power to ensure that this conference runs smoothly. In November, we will come face to face with the contemporary world's greatest crisis: Complacency. By bolstering our delegates' spirits and encouraging them to question what they know, we will counter complacency with curiosity and combat flippant ignorance with critical thinking. We shall delve into the crevices and sidelines of global politics to find solutions that specifically cater towards each issue.
At SHASMUN VIII, let us shine a light on our complacency. History cannot be made in a single MUN conference, but you will surely emerge a step closer to global citizenship than before.
Should any issues arise, feel free to contact me at or .

Hello! My name is Daphne Tsai, and it is my pleasure to serve as the Director of Technology for SHASMUN VIII. I’ve had the privilege of attending conferences across the world in countries like Cyprus and Qatar, experiencing the way complete strangers with vastly different backgrounds can come together and collaborate in the hopes of bettering our world. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity once again to continue my MUN journey back where it began, and endlessly excited to take part in SHASMUN’s transition into a digital conference. I wish you all a productive and engaging conference, and hope you each are able to form a multitude of ideas and friendships through it.
Please email me at with any questions!
Jasmine Huang, Class of 2022
Honorable directors, student officers, delegates, and guests, welcome to the 8th annual SHASMUN! This year, I have the honor of serving as one of your administrative officers. SHASMUN is a great learning experience for both new delegates just joining MUN and for experienced delegates continuing MUN. It aims to teach delegates about global issues and encourages them become more globalized citizens, while improving their public speaking skills, compassion, and teamwork. Together with the rest of the administrative team, we will work to ensure that SHASMUN is a memorable experience for all participants. I hope to see you all at SHASMUN VIII in the fall!
